Oakbank

A garden built by a very clever client and designed to bring in the birds, this was a pure joy to design. From the start the client was clear about having plants that would attract the finches and other native birds that were around the area but still had to be a great place for the grand kids to play.

Incorporating many indigenous plants and species that the birds love and leaving room for the client to add to the planting palette and discover new flora. The garden includes native grasses like Themeda, Lomandra and Poa as well as Grevilleas, Scaevola and Kangaroo Paws.

Permeable paths, bluestone stepping stones, Corten steel and recycled timber add to the natural earthy feel of the garden.
